How I Ended Up on Top of the Sydney Harbor Bridge
Bridge climber, latest addition to my resume The first leg of this journey starting in San Francisco includes New Zealand, Thailand, Kenya, Egypt, England, Ireland, and New York for the holidays (2009), ending the trip while beginning the New Year back in San Francisco. This is the first time that Kaze has had an opportunity to take an extended vacation with me. He has wanted to go to New Zealand for years and I have wanted to take him on safari but his work has prevented him from taking time off. Jon and Inge have wanted to go on safari, ...
Why Do You Travel So Much?
Hello from Jenni! It's been awhile since the website has been updated with Michael's gorgeous photos and my postings but with good reason! We've continued our journey of the last ten months with some shorter versions of this long beautiful exploration of the world, spent lovely time with family, raised some polywogs in the hot tub, and are working vigilantly to edit thorough thousands of photos taken during the last trip which inlcuded Singapore, South Africa, Rwanda, Masai Mara and Serengetti, Mali, Senegal, Marac, Barcelona, Southern Bavaria and the Romantic Road, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Prague. ...
Imbali Visual Literacy Project
We were pleased to visit the imbali visual literacy project store located in the Museum Africa building in Johannesburg. Most items are made from simple or recycled materials. The originality, fine craft, and design of the wares are superb! We were shocked at the elegance, capriciousness, and quality of the items featured which are shown in Michael’s photos.
Cambodia
The Kingdom of Cambodia is one of the world’s greatest conundrums. From the inspiring and dramatic ruins of Angkor Watt to the chilling reminders of Pol Pot’s Killing Fields this tiny country represents both a Heaven and a Hell.
The White Lions of South Africa
Hello from Jenni! Picture the tawny rolling grassy hills of South Africa, strains of Ladysmith Black Mombasa playing in the background and a dozen five month old lion cubs, half of them white, with their massive paws around your neck, licking up and down your arms, nibbling on your skirt and you have an idea of the glorious endowment provided us as we were welcomed into this vast and gracious country.
A Swing through Singapore
Hello from Jenni! As we wing our way past Mozambique, arching over the cloud ruffled shore of Tanzania in our Singapore Airlines 777 overnight flight, I finally have some perspective on Singapore. Our 2 AM flight from Changi Airport to Johannesburg was ‘retimed’ to 3:40AM and the flight was continually rough, frequently awakening those fortunate to be able to sleep in the confines of the cabin seats. I read “Undress Me in the Temple of Heaven’ by Susan Jane Gilman on this overnight journey…it fit perfectly into the space I've left open for this new adventure, describing ...
Nubian Museum in Aswan
While on safari in Masai Mara, Kenya, we were intrigued by a colony of baboons nesting in a large tree on the banks of the river running through our camp. Each night, one by one, they slowly ambled toward a clearing on the savannah and settled into the equivalent of primate lotus positions to view the setting of the sun. Normally gregarious, boisterous and aggressive, they would remain passive, alone as if in trance until the sun dropped below the horizon and night began to fall.

Kaze Morrissey Bungy Jump in New Zealand
For many, this would have to be the ultimate challenge, but not for Kaze Morrissey. Make no mistake, the Nevis Highwire Bungy is not for the nervous – with a wild 134 metres (440 feet) drop, the river seems to rush towards you faster than you’re rushing towards it! Nov 2009.
