Jimmy McKissic

jimmy Jimmy McKissic, an old acquaintance of Michael’s from Bangkok in the eighties, magically appeared by our table at Raffles in Singapore dressed in bright purple satin with the word ‘Remember?’ embroidered on his lapel as well as across his back.

Known for his penchant for wearing two differently colored shoes, he’s is currently playing in the Writer’s Bar at Raffles. He states that his little question provokes more interesting comments from passersby as he travels the world.

Born in Arkansas, McKissic is known to tens of thousands for the delightful piano music he played while at the Hotel Martinez, Cannes, where he was entertainer from 1984 through to 2007 (and he also found time for a couple of concerts at New York’s Carnegie Hall, too).

Jimmy is an exceptionally loving and giving person who has found his place not only in the world of great music but in fellowship as well. He has a contagious love of life and those who populate his vicinity: his philosophy is one that closely parallels the Golden Rule.

As we bid him adieu he was singing and playing nursery rhymes for a young baby in his father’s arms with such delight that the entire crowd broke into heavenly smiles! Don’t miss him! If you have no other reason to visit Singapore, go to hear Jimmy play and sing! He is a living legend!
