Richie Walker was formerly a studio musician in New York, San Francisco, Honolulu and Taipei. He fronted his own band in New York, the USA West Coast and Canada. He was a highly rated solo artist in Taipei and was awarded Taiwan’s Golden Horse, a local music and movie award, for his guitar and composing work on a Hong Kong film called “Farewell, China”.
An album called “Why Are We Still Strangers” was released in 1992 on Sony/Asia and was very well received. The title track single went into the top ten on the Taiwan charts. From 1988 until 2004, Richie was a highly regarded Morning Show host and Music Director for Taiwan’s highly rated English language radio station, ICRT.
Richie Walker brings a wealth of knowledge in radio station set-up, programming, engineering, On air talent and integrity to his work. He has been a respected and successful radio and TV personality in markets such as New York, San Francisco, Honolulu and Taipei (for over twenty years).
98.5 BREEZE FM’s, “The Morning Show” was hosted by veteran DJ and musician Richie Walker. The show offered a morning drive format that included an engaging and energizing blend of Smooth Jazz, Adult Contemporary hits from yesterday and today, cool Latin sounds and funky Rhythm & Blues tunes combined with traffic, weather and news updates. “The Morning Show” with Richie Walker kept Bangkok entertained and informed every weekday morning from 6am to 11am.
